Executive leadership

David Knowles

Executive Chairman, Acron Technologies

David Knowles has served as Executive Chairman of Acron Technologies since 2025. He has more than 35 years of experience in the industrial technology sector, with a focus on satellite communications, precise navigation and timing and life-saving rescue technologies for aviation, government & defense and outdoor & marine markets. From January 2016 to 2025, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of ACR Group, Inc. Prior to that, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of OM Group, Inc., where he was responsible for developing and executing the company’s global strategic direction, restructuring five business units across North America, Europe and Asia, and leading the successful sale of the company to Apollo Global Management and Platform Specialty Products Corporation. He holds a Master of Management degree in Finance, Marketing and Economics from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Alan Crawford

President and Chief Executive Officer, Acron Technologies

Alan Crawford has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Acron Technologies since 2025. He has more than 15 years of experience in the commercial aviation and defense sectors. From January 2018 to March 2025, he served as President of L3Harris Commercial Aviation (now Acron Aviation), where he was responsible for leading a global business that delivered integrated avionics, simulation and training solutions, generating up to $1.5 billion in annual revenue. Prior to that, he held several senior roles within L3Harris and its predecessor simulation businesses. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Technology Sydney. Alan was also a Mergers & Acquisitions attorney in London and Sydney prior to his aerospace career.

Craig Collins

Chief Financial Officer, Acron Technologies

Craig Collins has served as Chief Financial Officer of Acron Technologies since October 2025. He has 26 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sector. From 2021 to 2025, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Elbit Systems of America, where he was responsible for the financial stewardship of a $1.7 billion portfolio and the oversight of more than 3,500 employees supporting defense, homeland security and commercial aviation programs. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions at L3Harris Technologies and its predecessor, L3 Technologies, including Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the Aerospace Systems Segment, generating $4 billion in global revenue, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Electronic Systems Segment, generating $3 billion in revenue annually. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science from Kettering University.
